What forms of Medical Marijuana

Are Allowed in Louisiana?

The acceptable forms of medical marijuana in Louisiana, approved by the legislature, are oils, extracts, tinctures, sprays, capsules, pills, solutions, suspension, gelatin-based chewables, lotions, transdermal patches, suppositories, metered-dosed inhalation, and flower. See below for a description of the most common forms.

What is flower?
Flower refers to the trichome-covered part of a marijuana plant. Otherwise known as bud, flower is a versatile medication and the most popular form of marijuana. While smoking in a pipe or joint is the most common way to medicate, vaporizing in a vaporizer, and incorporating into edibles are also viable treatment options.

What is a Metered-Dose Inhaler?
Charged with natural extracts of marijuana, the aerosol sprayed from a metered dose inhaler is coarser than smoke yielding more cannabinoids per dose. Very little of the product (~5%) dissipates or is exhaled, allowing you to medicate without exposing others to significant second hand aerosol.

What are Tinctures?
Medical marijuana tinctures are packaged in a 30 mL glass bottle with a dropper. Tincture dosages are easy to self-titrate and measure. Tinctures are easily absorbed by the liver, so the effects are felt more quickly than in pill or gelatin-based chewable form. Because of this, tinctures represent an effective method of consumption for precise dosing.

What are Topical Creams?
Topicals can include marijuana-infused lotions, balms, and oils that are absorbed through the skin for localized relief of pain, soreness, and inflammation. Topicals are often used by patients who want the therapeutic benefits of marijuana without the cerebral euphoria associated with other delivery methods as they are non-intoxicating.

What is a Distillate Syringe?
A distillate syringe is a medical marijuana product that contains a highly purified and concentrated form of cannabinoids, such as THC or CBD. The distillation process removes impurities and other compounds, resulting in a clear, potent liquid. This liquid is then packaged in a syringe for easy and precise dosing. Users can apply the distillate under the tongue, mix it with other products, or use it in various ways to achieve the desired therapeutic effects.

GDF-Dablicator

What is a Dablicator?
A dablicator is a device used in the consumption of marijuana concentrates, often in a form known as “dabs.” It’s designed to make the process cleaner and more convenient. The dablicator typically consists of a syringe-like container filled with a measured amount of concentrate, allowing users to apply a precise dose onto a heated surface, such as a vaporizer or a dab rig. This method is favored by some for its accuracy and ease of use in administering concentrates.

What is a Gelatin-Based Chewable?
This is an edible form of medicine that contains marijuana. A popular method of delivery for medicinal marijuana, people should exercise caution when using edibles, especially for the first time. Patients should always adhere to the recommended dosage.

Good Day Farm extract

What is an Extract?
Extracts are a type of concentrate created by extracting all the cannabinoids and terpenes found in the plant’s trichomes, and leaving behind the excess plant material. All having similar effects, extracts can come in many different forms, like oils, lotions, sprays, and more.
