Mar 10, 2024

Kenner, Louisiana – In a groundbreaking move within the medical marijuana industry, Crescent City Therapeutics prepares to open its newest pharmacy in Kenner, introducing a range of progressive services including a cutting-edge drive-thru facility. Notably, this venture marks a significant milestone as Lovie Rodgers becomes the first Black woman in the state, and potentially the country, to hold ownership in a medical marijuana pharmacy.

Earning the coveted tenth license from the state Board of Pharmacy, Crescent City Therapeutics is set to redefine accessible healthcare solutions in Kenner and beyond. The pharmacy, the second within Jefferson Parish, aims to extend its services across the greater New Orleans area stretching from Grand Isle to New Orleans East and the northshore, with a key focus on offering complimentary delivery services.

Chief Operations Officer Mike Maylon sheds light on the diverse patient base catered to by Crescent City Therapeutics. While the typical customer profile includes a 46-year-old “soccer mom” grappling with sleep issues and anxiety, the pharmacy’s services cater to a wide range of health conditions, illustrating their commitment to holistic patient care.

For CEO Lovie Rodgers, the journey towards establishing Crescent City Therapeutics stems from a personal experience with her mother’s battle with Crohn’s Disease. “[My mom] never would have had the opportunity to get access to something like this so I’m here to be an advocate for those children who are trying to help their parents,” she said. “I couldn’t do it for my mom at the time but now I can do it for other patients.” Witnessing the limitations of conventional treatments, Rodgers has emerged as a passionate advocate for patients seeking alternative health solutions, ensuring that no individual is left without options.

Rodgers emphasizes the transformative role that Crescent City Therapeutics intends to play in the medical marijuana landscape. By promoting awareness, safety, and security regarding marijuana use, the pharmacy aims to eliminate stigmas associated with medicinal cannabis. Moreover, the diverse composition of the company’s leadership represents a departure from industry standards, underscoring their commitment to inclusivity.

The collaboration at Crescent City Therapeutics extends beyond Rodgers, with key stakeholders including Thanh Nguyen, Randy Mire, and Freddie Pitcher Jr., each playing a pivotal role in shaping the pharmacy’s vision. The pharmacy’s strategic location in Kenner facilitates enhanced accessibility through initiatives like drive-thru services, free delivery options, and competitive pricing, further solidifying their mission to serve the community.

A testimony to Crescent City Therapeutics’ dedication to patient welfare is their range of offerings, which includes various forms of medicinal marijuana such as flowers, pre-rolled joints, gummies, tinctures, topicals, and more. With quality products sourced from licensed local farms, customers benefit from a carefully curated selection designed to address a myriad of health concerns.

As Crescent City Therapeutics embarks on this transformative journey in the medical marijuana landscape, their commitment to efficiency, accessibility, and patient-centric care underscores a progressive approach aimed at revolutionizing healthcare delivery in Louisiana.
